Mantralayam, also known as Mantralaya, is a revered pilgrimage town located in the Kurnool district of Andhra Pradesh, India. It is famously known as the final resting place of Sri Raghavendra Swamy, a 17th-century Hindu saint and philosopher, and attracts devotees from across India and beyond. Situated on the banks of the Tungabhadra River, the town has a tranquil atmosphere that is deeply spiritual, making it an ideal destination for those seeking peace and solace.

The centerpiece of Mantralayam is the Raghavendra Swamy Mutt, a temple and monastery complex dedicated to the teachings and legacy of Sri Raghavendra. Inside the mutt, the Brindavana, or sacred burial spot of the saint, is the focal point where devotees gather to offer prayers and seek blessings. It is believed that Sri Raghavendra still resides here in a spiritual form, blessing those who come with sincere devotion.

Apart from the mutt, Mantralayam has other notable temples, such as the Panchamukhi Anjaneya Swamy Temple, which is dedicated to Lord Hanuman. This temple, located a short distance from the main complex, is known for its natural rock formations and serene surroundings.

Pilgrims also visit the Tungabhadra River for ritual baths, believing the river has purifying qualities. Special events like Aradhana (annual commemoration of Sri Raghavendra's Brindavan Pravesh) and major Hindu festivals see an influx of visitors, adding a festive and spiritual vibrancy to the town.

With its peaceful ambiance, deep spiritual significance, and historical connection to one of India's most venerated saints, Mantralayam is a must-visit for devotees and those seeking a spiritual retreat.
